What are you doing in life if not working, living and breathing your passion?  I know, it sounds kind of blunt and a bit harsh especially if you have allowed yourself to get  far away from what makes you happy.  Have you escaped bliss and are unsure how to return?  Do you need a map back to where your passion lies?  If so, you are not alone.  MANY today have sacrificed what makes them happy for what they were told they were supposed to do.  So 1950’s!  Today, we live in a time where 9 year olds are CEOs of multimillion dollar companies, information is as close as a key stroke and the sky is the limit when it comes to innovation.
With so much possibility in the world, what are you waiting for?  How might you find your Passion?  Let’s start with some basics.  Passion denotes a compelling feeling, enthusiasm or desire for something.  Generated in the 2nd Chakra, it is where ideas go through gestation to be delivered into the world.  Let’s see if we can start to get you closer to your passion: What recurring ideas for projects keep coming to you?  What activities or topics really excite you?  What could you not live without?  What is your ideal life?  If money were not an issue, what would you do for a living?  What makes you happy and fulfilled?  What could you do for work that would really be like a hobby?  What talents do you have that you enjoy?
When you are in alignment with what excites you, joy and quality of life transform the life you knew into a life full of fulfillment.  Stay focused on purpose and passion and you will find yourself living your way into a renewed life.

Have you ever felt like you were headed north to find out you may need to make a sharp turn and go due west?  In Southern California this Easter we experienced what seemed like the longest rolling earthquake ever.  The foundation was literally moving beneath our feet.  Yes, changing direction and foundational shift is a part of life.  But, how do you properly deal with the roller coaster of emotions that comes from heading into uncharted territory?
The Root Chakra in Ancient Indian Medicine deals with security.  Are all your basic needs met?  Do you have food, shelter, water?  Do you feel like you belong to a group or a community?  The Root/1st Chakra deals with foundation.  Perhaps we freak out a bit when things change because we feel threatened and unsafe.  Maybe we question if we will have to sacrifice beyond our comfort, even to the point of not feeling that there will not be enough.  Most of us worry in vain.  We are blessed with more than we know.  We always find “a way” and “a way” will always find us.
The fear of the unknown, of our changing foundation can create stress in the body.  See below for Root Chakra correlations to stressors and affected body areas:
Life Aspect: Basic needs being met, family values, safety, foundation, early familial teachings Out of balance physical manifestation: Sciatica, knee issues, low back problems, immune compromise, rectal troubles, depression
To deal with keeping the Root aligned.  Affirm the positive in you life that relates to life aspects that are changing and seem out of balance.  Wear Root Chakra Paraphernalia to remind yourself of your blessings- http://www.cafepress.com/BeingWellbody.424794976.
Blessings!

Still in the first quarter of the year, the energy of 2010 coupled with the emerging spirit of Spring prompts reflection at the direction one is headed in life.  So often we move through life on auto-pilot forgetting about the dreams we once had, living from practicality and not purpose.  Remembering your intention is a fantastic way to keep your steps forward focused and in alignment with what really makes you happy.  For a more distinct picture of what you would like in your life, VISULAIZE!
Can you picture your ideal job, relationship, home, social circle in your mind’s eye?  You are half way to living the life of your dreams if you can actually sense what it feels and looks like.  The quote, “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe it can achieve” is a mantra you  can  recite to remind yourself how powerful visualization can be.  In Indian Medicine, the 6th or Third Eye Chakra relates to seeing the unseen, the images of the life you’ve always wanted.  Don’t give up on it.  Direct your energy and tap into your inner child that wasn’t afraid to dream.

In reading the December issue of Redbook, I came across a set of brilliant questions that helped me reflect on how I spend my time, money and energy.  I am in a space where I feel the need to be very intentional.  I have become very particular with the activities I engage in, what I consume and who gets my attention.  I have also found myself so full with gratitude, knowing that everything is perfect.  I have found that my days are so rich with purpose and with each day there is reason to celebrate. Please reflect on the questions below.  Comment and offer any insights that may be helpful to others.
1)     How do you spend alone time?
2)     Do you pay attention to what your body needs?
3)     To whom are you grateful?
4)     Do you compare your life to other people’s?
5)     Do you spend money on things that speak to your soul?
6)     What/Who do you see when you look in the mirror each morning?
7)     Have you figured out a way to handle less-than-perfect relationships in your life?
8)     Do you have a faith in something bigger than you?
9)     What positive things do you bring to a relationship with your spouse, partner, friends, kids and/or parents?
10)Is there a space in your home to do the things you love?
11)How many hours a week do you spend on your computer, phone or TV?
12) Do you feel older or younger than your age?  How often do you feel good about your age?
